Short-term Job Assistance for Gem Show

"Seeking two responsible, strong young people interested in helping with the set-up and dismantling of an exhibit for the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show. Longtime participant is now starting as a dealer, and requires assistance with the transport of 5-6 heavy crates and the installation of the contents within the exhibit room at the Tucson InnSuites during the afternoon of 26 January 2019 (Saturday). He also requires assistance with the dismantling of the exhibit during the afternoon on February 9th (Saturday). Total amount of work on each day should take no longer than 2 hours. Executive Director – part time

The Hebrew Free Loan is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization providing interest-free financial assistance to those in need and empowering people to achieve self-sufficiency with dignity. Since 1947, we have been a leader in lending a hand and assisting in building the future of many in our community.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Hebrew Free Loan Association of Tucson’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.


  • Develop core programs, operations, and business plans.
  • Ensure ongoing program excellence, program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
  • Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, partnering organizations, and funders.
  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of the committee; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing operations.
  • Represent organization at community events and engage in community outreach.
  • Develop all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.


  • Advanced degree with management experience.
  • Ability to manage staff, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and innovative approach to business planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity of the Southern Arizona Community.

Time Commitment and Compensation:

  • Average 25-30 hours a week; Hours will vary and are flexible across the week
  • Salary: $36,000-$40,000
  • Opportunity to work remotely as needed
  • Potential opportunity to grow position from part-time to full-time role
