Geniza Field Trip to Evergreen Cemetery with CAI's Rabbi Robert Eisen @ Evergreen Mortuary & Cemetery | Tucson | Arizona | United States

As part of the lifecycle curriculum, our 5th & 6th graders will take a field trip to Evergreen Cemetery where Rabbi will point out the graves of those who are a part of the history of our congregation, as well as Tucson at large; teach the students about our GENIZA (a place where worn ritual objects and sacred texts are buried); and lead a short service which will include the burial of items that we have collected over the year.

Everyone is welcome. Start time will depend on how long it takes to get our students from Religious School to the cemetery; we expect to conclude between 11:00 and 11:30am (depending on questions, etc.). Our visit will begin in the area beneath the archway on the east side of CAI’s section. Please contact Sierra if you will be attending or should you have questions.
