Welcome to the Israel Center of Tucson!
The Israel Center is Tucson's central resource for all things Israeli. From Israel travel information to cultural programs, community dialogues, and innovative Tucson-Israel Partnerships, the Israel Center is a living bridge between the people and institutions of Tucson and Israel.
The Israel Center is a joint project of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona and the Tucson Jewish Community Center, in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel.
Host families needed!
The Weintraub Israel Center together with Camp J are excited to bring the Tzofim Friendship Caravan-Israel Scouts to Tucson on Thursday, June 21, 2012, 6 pm at the JCC Ballroom! Each Friendship Caravan consists of 5 male and 5 female Tzofim (Israel Scouts) who are entering their senior year of high school. The Caravans travel though out North America each summer as emissaries, sharing their lives in Israel through song, dance and story. Fluency in English and strong communicative skills are additional requirements for Delegation members, as well as an intense love for the land and people of Israel and a desire to share this passion with North Americans.
In many communities, home hospitality is provided for the teenage Tzofim for the duration of their visit. This hosting relationship goes beyond simply providing food and a bed—the host families become true surrogate families during their stay. If you are interested in becoming a host family, please contact Jennifer Ferrell or call 577.9393 x133. Don’t miss their only stop in Tucson!
