• Anne Lowe, Northwest Division Director, resides in Marana, and her goal is to connect Jewish residents of Oro Valley, Marana, Picture Rocks, Dove Mountain, Saddlebrooke, Catalina, and other northwestern communities with each other and with the larger Jewish community.
• Anne and her husband, David, moved to Tucson from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, seven years ago.  In addition to being a writer and artist, Anne is active in a number of Jewish organizations. Northwest Art NewsMarlene Burns is pleased to announce that her abstract painting for the High Holy Days 5773 has been chosen to be the holiday cover for the following Jewish newspapers in New York: The Jewish Sentinel, "AVINU MALKEINU," the Jewish Tribune and The Jewish World. Marlene is also a Hebrew educator as well as a career fine artist and all of her Judaic paintings come with an interpretation of her artistic symbolism and a teaching. Mordecai Colodner is continuing to exhibit  at Toscana Gallery, 9040 N. Oracle Road. A new group of "Acrylics through Acrylic" paintings is starting to be shown In February.

Edlynne Sillman,  Jewish photographer from Marana, will host an opening reception at the Tucson JCC, Thursday, February 14 from 5-7 pm. FREE


 

Prickly Pear Poker Extravaganza with Congregation Or Chadash

Put on your cowboy boots and hat for the first ever Prickly Pear Poker Exravaganza at El Parador Garden Restaurant on Broadway. It all goes down Sat. June 9 at 5pm. A Texas Hold'em tournament for the serious poker players as well as casino games including bingo for all the rest. Lots of prizes!  $100 to compete in the Poker Tournament, $50 for all non-tournament/Casino guests. Admission includes a fabulous El Parador feast.
