In 1937 the Nazis held the Entartete Kunst (Degenerate Art) exhibition, an ideological move intended to censor and dismantle the individual creativity of modern artists. This talk will explore the context regarding the exhibition as well as investigate the impact of not only censorship, but also the Nazi’s comparison of modern artists with those suffering from mental illness.

In partnership with the University of Arizona Museum of Art's Verboten/Forbidden exhibition, featuring curators Olivia Miller and Hannah Soltys.
